The mission of Trinity Lutheran Student Ministries
is to Transform and Love our Students through the Means of Grace
by means of a balanced program of bible study, worship, fellowship,
and service. This is best accomplished as a collaborative relational
effort involving parents, students, the Pastor of Youth and Family, and
other adult mentors.
Six Values: our program will support and reflect these values
Value 1: Christ-centered Biblical and Catechetical teaching that transforms our students into
grace-centered disciples and equips them to witness of their faith.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices,
holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the
pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:1-2)
Value 2: Encouraging our students and families to make diligent use of the Means of Grace and
engage in daily baptismal renewal.
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. In the same way, count
yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. (Ro 6:8, 10)
Value 3: Equipping parents to be spiritual leaders in their homes.
Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Pr 22:6)
Value 4: Helping our students and families to understand the world around them through the
eyes of Jesus and respond in love and service to their neighbor.
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay
down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in
need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? (1 Jn 3:16-17)
Value 5: Preparing our students to remain active in their faith as they transition into college.
Continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel.
This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven.
(Col 1:23)
Value 6: Empowering our students and families to take ownership in the success of this
program.
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. Now you are
the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. (1Co 12:7, 27)
